viruses, reformatting, reconfiguring oh my!

First post of the new year and alot of things are changing on my end of things, After finally getting sick of the slow crawl that the speed of my laptop was becoming I ran full scans and discovered quite a few pieces of malware, a few viruses and even a trojan that evaded my detection (it sucks how you now have to use multiple anti-virus and anti-malware softwares just to rid your system of the majority of the crap it accumulates)

One of them was a bootsector virus so I opted to just format the whole thing and start from scratch, so now I’m back to square one with a fresh install of xp on the laptop again. This time I opted to set up unique hardware profiles and user accounts so that if I’m DJing I already have a hardware profile with none of the bloat of the main user profile. Took me about a solid day to get it tweaked right but I’ve noticed that disabling alot of the networking services has gotten rid of the majority of the pops and clicks in the audio that I was experiencing (thank god!)

Its going to take the better part of a week to get all my design tools reloaded and all my presets and settings redone but at least my computer wont be lagging to hell and possibly sending my bank info to some russian mobsters or something.

Reachmusicfestival.com just hit a million hits today.. its been getting tons of hits and tons of visits this month and since it went up a few months ago. I hope the festival is going well!

So I usually dont get political on here, but this woman is an Idiot. If Sarah Palin was president I think we would have alot of logic like this floating around.

Sylvia Allen the senator from Arizona is a complete idiot! the earth is 6000 years old? someone has been digging into the creationism a bit much lately. Its like that “museum” of creationism that has man and dinosaurs in the same scenes.

This is a little to similar to idiocracy to me.. when will states elect INTELLIGENT representatives?

I bit the bullet and got a APC40 which will be arriving next month. I got 12 month defered payment a la guitar center thanks to signing up for thier credit card. crazy you say? yes.. well more or less.. but I’ve had the itch to make my own music for A LONG time and this controller finally peaked my curiosity SO much that I had to break the bank and get it.

In other news, I have a Roland Handsonic HPD-15 for sale, its a hand drum machine that emulates hundreds of hand drums and various percussion instruments. Its super cool but with this new toy I need to sell the Roland to recoup some of the funds to justify the purchase with the lady. at only $500 its half the list price and its in great shape. I’ll throw in a mountplate so you can mount it on your drum kit or a stand, and I’ll throw in a pelican case to keep it in good shape. any takers? e-mail me at vaxination@gmail.com

All nighter and a new site to show for it!

So I recently got the job to make a site for a music festival that benefits a whole boat load of charities and is going down in August in Connecticut.

Yesterday, I had a half functioning host and nothing but an image up as a placeholder (half functioning because it was spitting out ads at me)

I made an account on my host and forwarded the domain and got to cracking, I was on a sharp deadline and had no time to spare.

I worked all night and heres what the end result is. The Reach Music Festival

Not bad for less than 24 hours of serious frantic busting ass! Its not fully complete yet but I populated it with the content I have and am waiting for the rest.

Now I’m off to take Anita to her job interview and then I’m coming back home and taking another serious power nap.
